Happy New Year everyone. Hope you all had a nice start to 2016. I know I haven't been active - my apologies if I haven't answered your comments/posts, as I don't often check my inbox during downtime. I do eventually read and appreciate all your comments and replies though!

Secondly, there have been quite a few inquiries as to whether people can write stories or make artwork based on the LivingSkin universe and/or concept. The answer is a resounding YES! I would love to see people's interpretations on it. I also want to clarify (since I believe in giving credit where due) that LivingSkin is, indeed, inspired by 's awesome Little Shop of Transform series, which I encourage you all to check out!

Similarly to 12-tf's recent journal entry detailing the Little Shop of Transform, I figured I'd put down some details for people in case they want to make LivingSkin-based stories/art of their own. However, by all means you may deviate as little or as much as you'd like - there's no real 'canon' for LivingSkin, as it's just a basic concept to serve as a starting point.

So, some tidbits about the LivingSkin brand:

• LivingSkin is a niche, adult-themed store that requires customers to be over 18 to enter. It is often located in the corners of shopping malls, with the interior completely hidden unless you enter (aside from some skins on display in the windows)
• While its popularity is rising (as indicated in 's Conventions story), it is still not considered mainstream
• The main owner or origin in unknown, though Mai is definitely one of the original founders and knows more than she lets on
• LivingSkin is known for a wide range of TF products including:
• Skins: Obviously their main product line. Comes in both latex and 'normal' varieties. All suits are anthropomorphic and range from regular animals to mythological creatures like gryphons, aliens, and so on. The majority of the final forms' hands and feet are at least vaguely human shaped (five fingers/toes, plantigrade) with talon/paw/hoof variations, though this is not always the case. One size fits all, including genders (i.e. male wearing a 'female' suit will become female or futa).
• Goos (aka Symbiotes): These are a subcategory of the normal skins (in fact skins can be converted into a compact goo form with certain accessories, like the rings in Eight88's story) but can also be purchased outright. They are in general a bit more aggressive than the skins, often tempting the user to transform even at inappropriate times since they are always bonded to the user.
• Consumables: Potions, serums, pills, etc - cheaper than skins, but eventually run out. Often offered in 'variety packs' to let customers sample different species before settling on a favorite, more expensive skin. LivingSkin has also recently released a new "Were-" line of potions, which activate transformations based on certain conditions like the full moon or the user's emotional state.
• Collaborations: Intended for couples sharing an intimate act. For example, a massage oil/lotion that transforms on contact with human skin, or a condom that transforms the partner during intercourse (but only if it senses that the act is consensual).
• Partial: These only change part of the body, leaving the rest human. LivingSkin's new footwear line, which are basically just the toed sock part of a skin, is one example. There is a Cheetah variant for runners, Gecko for climbers, Polar Bear for cold climates, and more. Most sports organizations ban these from competitions, but allow athletes to use them for training.
• Since LivingSkin is an adult line, all products have built-in contraception features.
• All employees must be using one of the products while on shift. They are technically allowed to be fully naked, but usually will wear a simple bikini with the store logo on it. All employees are barefoot for comfort and practicality.
• In addition, all employees must be female (makes customers feel more at ease). This doesn't mean LivingSkin doesn't hire male workers, just that they must wear a female (or futa) skin while working.
• The store itself is usually fairly compact, but there are private changing rooms in the back to allow customers to try on products. Since the transformation and skin bonding processes are designed to be erotic, the rooms are almost completely sound-proof, but customers are allowed to request an employee to stay and 'assist' if they are nervous about the process.
